On Tuesday, Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham formally offered the incoming Trump Administration the chance to make use of just over 1,400 acres of Texas land in the planned mass deportations of illegal aliens.
As ABC News reports, Buckingham sent a letter to President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday, saying that 1,402 acres of land, located along the southern border and purchased by the state of Texas, can be put to use in the construction of “deportation facilities.” The land had been purchased from a farmer by the Texas General Land Office, with the original purpose of constructing a state-funded wall along the border.
“My office is fully prepared to enter into an agreement with the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or the United States Border Patrol to allow a facility to be built for the processing, detention, and coordination of the largest deportation of violent criminals in the nation’s history,” said Buckingham’s letter.
