A Chinese businessman, known only as H6, was invited to the Duke of York’s birthday party in 2020. A 50-year-old Chinese national who formed an “unusual degree of trust” with Prince Andrew has lost an appeal over a decision to bar him from entering the UK on national security grounds. A ruling by the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC), published on Thursday, said that the man, known only as H6, was in a position to “generate relationships between prominent UK figures and senior Chinese officials” for political interference purposes by the Chinese regime. The Chinese national was described as a “close confidant” of Prince Andrew but had not provided an open account of his relationship with the duke. The ruling also said that he had “sometimes deliberately obscured his links with the Chinese State, the CCP [Chinese Communist Party] and the UFWD [United Front Work Department].” This, combined with his relationship with the duke, represented a threat to national security, the document said. A GiveSendGo campaign has raised over $75,000 for the legal defense of Luigi Magnione, the 26-year-old Ivy League graduate charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. As of Friday morning, the online fundraiser raised $75,305 out of its $200,000 goal. “This is a preemptive legal fundraiser for the suspect allegedly involved in the shooting of the United Healthcare CEO. We are not here to celebrate violence, but we do believe in the constitutional right of fair legal representation,” the campaign organizers stated. Advertisement The Dec. 12 letter from Musk’s lawyer Alex Spiro and addressed to outgoing SEC Chair Gary Gensler also said that the agency had issued Musk a 48-hour settlement deadline to either accept a monetary payment or face charges over the probe into his $44 billion takeover of Twitter. Musk has since renamed Twitter as ‘X.’ The settlement amount was not disclosed in the letter. Musk has long sparred with the SEC and last year four lawmakers asked the commission to investigate whether Musk committed securities fraud by allegedly misleading investors about the safety of a brain implant developed by Neuralink.
