The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau Has Got to Go – PJ Media

Republicans are once again putting a big, red bullseye on the backside of the most useless agency in the government: the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (CFPB).
Created in 2008 after the financial crisis, its primary mission was supposed to be to prevent another subprime mortgage crisis. Instead, as with every other federal agency ever invented, it ignored its primary mission and massively expanded its regulatory authority. The result was a bloated, overbearing bureaucracy that stifles innovation and wreaks havoc on the banking sector while avoiding accountability. The CFPB is a creature of the Federal Reserve and does not receive its funding from Congress.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has tried to get rid of the CFPB on several occasions and will try again this year. He will introduce legislation that eliminates the agency and this time, it very well may succeed.
This year, rather than trying to repeal the law that created the CFPB, Cruz has hit upon a novel approach of setting at $0 the amount of money that the Federal Reserve could transfer to the CFPB.
“The CFPB is an unelected, unaccountable bureaucratic agency that has imposed burdensome and harmful regulations on American…

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) vowed that he would not “take food away from anybody,” adding that if people like McDonald’s cheeseburgers, they “should be able to get them.”
During Kennedy’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Finance Committee, he explained that if people like to eat McDonald’s or Hostess Twinkies, they “should be able to do that,” but people should know what the health impacts are of eating those kinds of foods.

“I don’t want to take food away from anybody,” Kennedy explained. “If you like a McDonald’s cheeseburger or Diet Coke — which my boss loves — you should be able to get them. If you want to eat Hostess Twinkies you should be able to do…

Hawkish Fed ‘Pauses’ Rate-Cuts As Expected, Reignites Inflation Fears

Tl;dr: The Fed removed a portion of the statement that said inflation has made progress toward the central bank’s 2% goal.
That aligns with the more cautious tone officials have been taking on the inflation outlook.
Rate-cut expectations for 2025 are sliding lower (hawkish)…

“The Fed’s statement was somewhat hawkish relative to last month, so it isn’t surprising that the knee-jerk reaction was for some modest bear flattening,” Bloomberg Intelligence US interest rate strategists Ira Jersey and Will Hoffman say.
“As we also noted, the press conference may cause even more volatility than these modest shifts in the statement.”

Credit: C-SPAN screenshot
As Democrat senators continued their interrogation of President Trump’s choice for Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Bernie Sanders (Socialist-VT) came absolutely unglued.
As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, RFK Jr. appeared this morning to testify before the Senate Finance Committee to make his case as Trump’s pick for Secretary of Health and Human Services. RFK Jr., Kash Patel, and Tulsi Gabbard will sit for hearings this week.
Earlier, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) set out from the beginning to conduct a massive character assassination on RFK Jr.. Still, the man at the forefront of Making America Healthy Again (along with President Trump) was more than ready and blew up his lies.
A short time later, Senator Mark Warner stepped up to the plate to bash RFK Jr., but he made an embarrassing mistake in his effort to ambush him.
Then, it was Comrade Bernie Sanders’s turn to interrogate RFK. Jr., and epic humiliation ensued.
Sanders brought photos of two onesies as props from RFK Jr.’s  Kennedy’s former organization, the Children’s Defense Fund. One said, “No Vax, No Problem,” while the…
