John 11:21 (KJV) — Today’s Verse for Thursday, November 21, 2024

If you have ever stood at the grave side of a loved one, this thought probably crossed your mind, too — “if you had only been here, Lord…”! Where is Jesus when we hurt? Why couldn’t he be here to help us? There are a couple of crucial answers to remember.

Jesus is with us in our moments of loss and grief. The Church is Jesus’ Body and every act of kindness, word support, effort to comfort us, and simple helping actions are part of Jesus working to alleviate our grief.
While Jesus may not have kept our loved one from passing from this life to the next, he has been the abiding and unbroken presence for each Christian who has died physically. Paul reminds us that when a Christian dies, he or she goes to be with Christ (2 Corinthians 5:6-7; Philippians 1:21-23) and God’s loving presence is never lost to him or her (Romans 8:35-39).

Martha seems to have something deep inside her that resonated with these promises because she was convinced that even though her brother, Lazarus, had died, she trusted that Jesus could still do something. She says, “But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask” (John 11:20). In the face of overwhelming grief and deep sorrow, we as…

Comcast Spin-Off to Force MSNBC to Strike ‘NBC’ From Its Moniker – Twitchy

Comcast has chosen to be unburdened by what has been. The broadcasting giant is spinning off the home of Joy Reid, Rachel Maddow, and Morning Joe, separating it from parent company NBC. That’s bad news for the bad actors at MSBNC.

Read on.

MSNBC may have to change its name as part of today’s spinoff, which will also likely impact (and limit) its newsgathering.
The spinco’s top exec says the company is thinking of itself as a “well-funded startup”….😬 https://t.co/uWI5yfjAgU pic.twitter.com/XPHxjekzDV
— Max Tani (@maxwelltani) November 20, 2024
MSBNC with its plummeting ratings and fleeing Democrat viewership base cannot survive on its own. Many fans of the leftist cable channel bristled when they heard the phrase ‘well-funded startup.’
Here’s why.

lol. Invoking “startup” culture means youre abandoned. It will be an online streaming only” channel in one year, followed by a complete shut down.
This will be tough news for some. check in on the most annoying person you know and see if they’re ok.

MSNBC does not survive in its current state after this spinoff. It may be the first network…

13 Gun Buybacks Net 2,052 Guns, No Reduction in Gun Violence

artas/iStock/Getty Images Plus

Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn celebrated the results of her 13th gun-buyback program last weekend. This one was conducted in an empty parking lot in Torrance and, using an estimated $20,000 in taxpayer-funded gift cards, brought in 256 firearms. Some of them were rusty, inoperable firearms that their owners were happy to offload onto LA taxpayers.
She rejoiced:

Today in closets and bedrooms across L.A. County, there are 2,000 fewer guns that can be found by a child, accidentally discharged, or stolen and used to kill in a crime. That makes all of the work we’ve done to bring these buybacks to our residents worth it.

There is absolutely no evidence of any kind that such publicity stunts have any impact whatsoever on gun violence, and precious little on suicides.
Her stunts have been going on since early 2022, and have cost L.A. taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars. They brought in a total of 2,052 guns. But do these buybacks really do any good?
In December 2022, the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) published the results of a study on just that question: Do gun buybacks have any measurable impact…

MEATHEAD RETURNS: Rob Reiner Breaks Silence on Twitter/X for First Time Since Trump Election Victory | The Gateway Pundit

As readers of the Gateway Pundit know, filmmaker Rob Reiner is one of Hollywood’s most vocal sufferers of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
He has been curiously silent about the outcome of the 2024 election – until now.
Reiner has finally broken his silence and wrote the following on Twitter/X.
Breitbart News reported:

Rob Reiner has posted his first message to X / Twitter following Kamala Harris’ loss to President-elect Donald Trump two weeks ago. In his brief message, he urged the left to build a “competitive information distribution system” to combat “disinformation” — a baffling suggestion since the left already controls the vast majority of the corporate news media and nearly all online search engines.
On Wednesday, Reiner also pushed the “50 state strategy” that would have Democrat elites attempt to make all 50 states blue in the next presidential election.

Now that America has elected a Convicted Felon with Authoritarian proclivities, I fear that Democracy’s return won’t be any time soon. The long term solutions are daunting. Democrats need to re adopt the 50 state strategy. And most importantly, a competitive information…

Buy Joe and Mika Now at These Bargain Basement Prices! – PJ Media

You know the old business expression, “Buy low, sell high?” Comcast is so desperate to get rid of its cable properties — including MSNBC — that it might be willing to turn that expression on its head.

Cable giant Comcast got into the content game in 2011 with its purchase of a 51% stake in NBCUniversal from GE for $13.8 billion. NBCU included NBC, MSNBC, Telemundo, Bravo, USA, and other channels. (Do we still call them channels?) In 2013, Comcast bought the remaining 49% for a whopping $16.7 billion. In two years, the value of NBCU increased by roughly 10%. That’s not too shabby for a collection of established media properties.
Before the election, Comcast said that it was looking to get rid of its NBCU properties. Comcast-owned CNBC reported last month that “the logic for Comcast is fairly straightforward” because “NBCUniversal’s cable networks aren’t growing anymore.” The business news network concluded, “Carving out the cable portfolio could placate Comcast investors by removing declining assets from the balance sheet.”
After the election, Comcast made it official today that they’re spinning off NBCU.
There’s one teensy little problem:

MSNBC…

Marlow said, “This is where I love Trump’s Cabinet picks, because it’s going to be a deregulation bonanza and it’s going to be a clearing out of the Deep State.” He also predicted that a lot of Deep Staters will just leave their jobs.
Elsewhere in today’s episode, Marlow highlights some hysterical anti-Trump media meltdowns, including Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin’s claim  that “Republicans want to kill your kids.”

FCC Hits Liberal ‘Fact-Check’ Firm With New Investigation

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched a sweeping investigation into Big Tech companies and their alleged role in mass censorship of Americans, signaling a new chapter in the battle over free speech.
Commissioner Brendan Carr, a prominent voice in the push to rein in tech platforms, sent letters to the CEOs of Alphabet, Microsoft, Meta, and Apple demanding information about their partnerships with NewsGuard, a media ratings firm accused of targeting conservative viewpoints.
In his letter, Carr described the alleged actions of Big Tech as part of a “censorship cartel,” involving not only tech companies but also media monitors and even government entities. “Big Tech companies silenced Americans for doing nothing more than exercising their First Amendment rights,” Carr wrote. “They targeted core political, religious, and scientific speech.”
‘They worked—often in concert with so-called “media monitors” and others—to defund, demonetize, and otherwise put out of business news outlets and organizations that dared to deviate from an approved narrative,” Carr continued.  Carr’s letter claims these censorship efforts were not…

‘60 Minutes’ pushes lies to derail Trump’s deportation mandate

As the rubble is still being cleared from the presidential election, the corporate media should reflect on its shamelessly partisan coverage and how it once again failed to gauge voter sentiment. Instead, it is launching a massive campaign to sway public opinion against the priorities of Donald Trump’s second administration, specifically his plan to deport the millions of individuals who entered the country illegally over the past four years.
This may seem like a Herculean lift, given that Trump made immigration reform a cornerstone of his campaign. Voters rewarded him with a landslide victory in the Electoral College and a decisive popular vote margin. Consistent with those results, a majority of Americans now support mass deportations. Undaunted, anti-borders activists in network and cable news are working tirelessly to derail Trump’s immigration policies, using misleading data, selective omissions, and sentimental appeals.
The recent election results show the old media strategy is failing harder than ever.
The campaign began even before Election Day. A week prior, CBS’ once-esteemed “60 Minutes” aired a feature examining what Trump’s immigration policy might entail….

Why Again Do We Still Have a Special Relationship With the Tyrannical UK?

America and the United Kingdom have long had a special relationship, working closely as allies to protect the West from oppressive dictatorships that suppress their own people, arbitrarily jailing them and persecuting them for exercising their God-given right of free speech. Here’s the problem. The UK has become one of those oppressive dictatorships that suppress their own people, arbitrarily jailing them and persecuting them for exercising their God-given right of free speech. And I’m not particularly interested in having a special relationship with a country like that. Nor are many other Americans.

Great Britain has always had a fraught relationship with freedom, at least regarding people who aren’t British. In its glorious imperialist era, when its colonialism brought the light of civilization to a huge swath of the world, it presumed to tell us Americans what we could and could not do. At Lexington and Concord, 250 years ago this spring, a bunch of redcoats tried to take our guns. We shot them. And we kept shooting them until they went home. But no hard feelings – they even burned down much of Washington, DC, during the War…

Pen and Paper Deployed as Triple 0 Emergency System Crashes

Victorian triple zero call-takers were forced to use pen and paper to dispatch emergency services for almost two hours after a system crash.
Triple Zero Victoria’s computer aided dispatch system was hit by an unplanned outage about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 20.
The crash stopped the automatic dispatch of the nearest available police, fire, and ambulances crews.
Backup measures were enacted before the automatic system was operating again at 7:15 p.m.
“Our staff are highly trained in Victoria’s CAD backup procedures, which are consistent with all other Australian jurisdictions,” a Triple Zero Victoria spokeswoman said.
Premier Jacinta Allan said the cause and potential impacts of the outage were under investigation.

President Biden Awards Medal of Freedom to Former Planned Parenthood President – Twitchy

President Joe Biden is trying to burn everything down on his way out the door, approving long-range missile strikes in Russia with U.S.-made and provided missiles, “forgiving” a $4.65 billion taxpayer-funded “loan,” and having Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the mind behind the “51 former intelligence officers” letter, announce that “every dollar we have at our disposal” will be pushed to Ukraine between now and January 20th.

Biden’s also rewarding those who returned taxpayer dollars to the Democrat Party in the form of campaign donations. You all remember Cecile Richards, don’t you? She was president of Planned Parenthood for quite a few years, and today she was awarded the Medal of Freedom by Biden.

RFK Wants to “Root Out” FDA Corruption. He Should Start With the Dangerous Abortion Pill

One of the more interesting consequences of this past presidential election is Donald Trump’s nomination of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., popularly known as RFK, as head of the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS).
As part of his campaign to “Make America Healthy Again,” RFK has pledged to root out corruption at the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). He is on record as a staunch critic of pharmaceutical companies and food producers who he believes have held too much sway over FDA’s decisions regarding the safety and efficacy of drugs and food additives.
If RFK is looking, as we trust he will be, what follows is a prime example of the political corruption of the FDA’s drug approval process.
Though there is no indication that the abortion pill, mifepristone, is currently on his radar, that drug is a prime candidate for review. What is more corrupt than its horrible safety record, further compounded by recent decisions by the FDA to water down regulations on distribution of the drugs at the insistence of the abortion industry and on the basis of studies supplied by that same industry?

DOOM SPIRAL: The Liberal Washington Post is on Track to Lose a Whopping $77 Million This Year | The Gateway Pundit

The liberal newspaper the Washington Post is losing money at a record pace. They’re projected to lose a whopping $77 million this year alone and that was before they lost a ton of subscribers when owner Jeff Bezos decided not to endorse Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
How could such an institution, such an iconic brand be losing so much money? Maybe it has something to do with WaPo columnists like Jen Rubin, who recently declared that Republicans want to kill your children.
Liberal media outlets are suffering decline across the board right now, but these numbers from the Washington Post are indicative of a doom spiral.
FOX News reports:

Washington Post set to lose $77 million this year even before boycott erupted over non-endorsement: Report
The Washington Post was already in financial trouble even before the recent boycott movement that erupted against the paper.
A report from New York Magazine’s Intelligencer shed light on a recent meeting at The Post newsroom where the top brass revealed that the paper was on pace to lose a whopping $77 million this year, a figure that does not even include the staggering 250,000 subscribers it lost over its last-minute…

Williams shared, “They couldn’t get my insurance information. She said she tried several places, and they said it was inactive. They said that I was deceased.”
The reason behind Williams’ bizarre circumstance is due to her identity being accidentally placed in the Social Security Administration’s Death Master File.

Newton’s Third Law of Politics – PJ Media

Isaac Newton’s third law of motion famously states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction: If you push an object, for example, the object pushes back against you with equal force.

It turns out this isn’t just a law of physics.
It’s a law of politics.
President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks thus far have run the gamut from traditional and well-established (Sen. Marco Rubio for Secretary of State, Rep. Mike Waltz for National Security Adviser, Chris Wright for Secretary of Energy, Brendan Carr for FCC Chairman) to the more audacious and controversial (former Rep. Matt Gaetz for Attorney General, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard for Director of National Intelligence, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Health and Human Services Secretary). What they all have in common is that they represent a precise reaction to the excesses and evils of the Obama-Biden bureaucracy that has, for over a decade and a half, plagued American politics.
Take, as the most obvious example, Gaetz. Gaetz is charismatic and brilliant; he has been both aggressive and effective on the House Judiciary Committee. He is also, as has been widely reported, thoroughly disliked in…

Senate Shoots Down Sanders’ Efforts to Block Sale of Artillery to Israel

The Senate shot down three proposals brought forward by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and other Democrat senators to block the sale of artillery and other weapons to Israel.
In an 18 to 79 vote, the Senate rejected S.J.Res.111. The resolution prohibited the sale of:

…thirty-two thousand seven hundred thirty-nine (32,739) 120mm tank cartridges, consisting of 120mm M1147 High Explosive Multi-Purpose with Tracer (HEMP-T) cartridges and/or 120mm M830A1 High Explosive Multi-Purpose Anti-Tank (MPAT) with Tracer cartridges.

The resolution’s text continued:

Also included are various 120mm tank munitions; 120mm munition canisters; transportation costs; publications and technical documentation; U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services; and other related elements of logistics and program support.

The Senate voted 18-79-1, against the second proposal, also known as S.J.Res.113. The second proposal sought to prohibit the sale of “fifty thousand four hundred (50,400) M933A1 120mm High Explosive mortar cartridges with M783 fuzes” to Israel.

In a 17-80-1 vote, with one person abstaining, the Senate also voted to reject S.J.Res.115,…

Rep. Jasmine Crockett Goes On Unhinged Rant About White People During Hearing

During a House hearing on Wednesday, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) unleashed a tirade. The congresswoman took aim at white Americans, dismissing their experiences and arguing that they are not entitled to use the term “oppression” because of their racial background.
Crockett asserted that white men in America have no claim to the term “oppression” because, unlike African Americans, they were not “dragged all the way across an ocean,” subjected to enslavement, or faced systematic brutality.
“There has been no oppression for the white man in this country. You tell me which white men were dragged out of their homes,” said Crockett. “You tell me which one of them got dragged all the way across an ocean and told that, ‘you are going to go and work, we are going to steal your wives. We are going to rape your wives.’ That didn’t happen.”
“We didn’t ask to be here. We’re not the same migrants that y’all constantly come up against. We didn’t run away from home. We were stolen,” she continued.

WATCH: Touching moment as wounded vet and family see new home donated by Gary Sinise Foundation

When a wounded Army Ranger received a well-deserved thank you for his service last week, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house — literally.
Emotional footage shows the moment retired U.S. Army Sergeant Joshua Hargis and his family first step into their brand new, mortgage-free home in Nolensville, Tennessee — a gift from the Gary Sinise Foundation.
‘There is not another man like him that I would trust my life with.’
“This is insane,” says one of two young sons Hargis shares with wife Taylor before breaking down in tears.
Hargis, who served as K-9 handler with the 75th Ranger Regiment, describes seeing the house for the first time as “absolutely overwhelming.”
During Hargis’ fourth deployment in Afghanistan, his team was ambushed while conducting routine operations. Four members of his unit were killed along with his K-9 companion, Jany. Hargis lost both his legs while running into danger to assist a fellow Ranger in a minefield.
“During a night raid, we were drawn into an area that was littered with buried IED’s (improvised explosive devices), and our targets had donned explosive vests that were concealed under their clothing,” Hargis explains.
Hargis had learned that his…
