French Criminal Who Escaped in Fatal Prison Break Recaptured in Romania

Paris Prosecutor Laure Beccuau said 10 people arrested in Bucharest were suspected of helping Mohamed Amra escape and go into hiding.
A French criminal, who was freed from a prison break by armed associates in an incident that led to the deaths of two jail guards, has been arrested in the Romanian capital, Bucharest.
Mohamed Amra, nicknamed La Mouche (The Fly), who was detained on Saturday and appeared in court in Bucharest on Sunday, is expected to be extradited to France.
The 30-year-old sported dyed red hair—possibly intended to disguise his identity—and grinned at onlookers as he was escorted by armed police to and from the courthouse.
On May 10, 2024, two guards—Fabrice Moello, 52, and Arnaud Garcia, 34—were killed when armed men attacked a prison convoy as it slowed down at a highway tollbooth in Incarville, outside Rouen.
Amra was being taken from court to prison after being convicted of a burglary in Evreux when the incident, which made global headlines, took place.
He vanished, along with his accomplices, and Interpol issued a red notice for his arrest.
After a nine-month manhunt, Amra and 10 other alleged members of his entourage were tracked down to Bucharest,…

Trump and Musk Hilariously Troll Leftists Whining About Progress Reports – Twitchy

It never ceases to be amazing to watch the left melt down at literally ANYTHING President Donald Trump or DOGE director Elon Musk say or do. We’re convinced that if Musk’s DOGE whiz kids were to discover a secret cure for cancer in their investigations of government documents and systems, everyone on the left would try to contract the disease in protest.

The latest FASCIST ARMAGEDDON from Trump and Musk involves a simple email that the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) sent to all federal workers this weekend requiring them to submit a basic list of five things they accomplished at work for the prior week.
To anyone who has worked in a private sector job, this is par for the course. We are expected to update our bosses regularly on what we did. This has become particularly important as remote work has taken over many workplaces. If you are working regularly, and not slacking off on the government’s dime, responding to the OPM email shouldn’t take anyone more than five minutes.
So, naturally, Democrats’ heads started exploding because of this simple task. Illinois Rep. Sean Casten urged federal workers not to comply or respond to the…

Montana Cowboys, Adam Smith, and Trump

In writer Taylor Sheridan’s Western series, 1923, there is a great scene in the third episode (which I will paraphrase) when the show’s Montana cattle-ranching family rides into town and finds a man selling futuristic wares on the street.  What’s that crazy thing?  Well, ma’am, it’s a washing machine.  And that?  A refrigerator for keeping food cold.  Oh, my.  How do they work?  They run on electricity through power lines straight into your home.  They are modern conveniences that do your chores for you.
Amid the general euphoria among those seeing such strange inventions for the first time, one of the brash, young cowboys asks discerningly, “So you sell electricity, and then you rent all the things that need electricity?”  The salesman reluctantly agrees but insists the new appliances will provide time for fun and leisure.  “But that ain’t more leisurely,” the young cowboy replies, “because we gotta work more to pay for all this stuff.”  The salesman quickly points out that every home in New York City will soon have all these technologies and more.  The cowboy shakes his head in disgust and provides a fine lesson on economic…

CPAC 2025 Wrap-Up

The annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) kicked off last Wednesday and ended Saturday — and the good mood among Republicans that has been prevalent since November seems to be holding strong.

Vice President JD Vance was one of the speakers, and he outlined the issues Americans are facing and how they are all connected. For example, if we unleash American energy development, grocery prices should come down because farmers and transportation companies won’t have to pay so much at the pump. And if the government, via the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), cuts out the pork, then that’s more money being directed toward lowering the deficit.

Vance was also provided an opportunity to defend his speech at the Munich Security Conference. Europeans didn’t like the righteous lecture — particularly the Germans. Except for Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who defended Vance’s speech, saying that Europe was being “sacrificed on the altar of wokeness, bureaucracy and mercantilism.” She added, “If those who were outraged had showed the same pride when Europe lost its strategic autonomy, tying its economy to autocratic regimes, or when European borders and our way of life were threatened by mass illegal migration, now we would live in a stronger Europe.”

Most notably, Vance, who is Catholic, also used the opportunity to talk about his faith. Unlike the ostensibly devout “good Catholics” Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, Vance has been known to quote great Catholic thinkers such as Thomas Aquinas and articulate his faith unabashedly. CPAC was no exception. He noted that Christianity hinges on the reality that “the Son of God became man, He died, and then He raised himself from the dead”; that because of Christ’s sacrifice, we don’t need to fear death but rather the losing of our soul; that our focus as human beings should be to honor God in all we do.

The funniest CPAC moment happened when Elon Musk, the head of DOGE, was gifted a chainsaw by the president of Argentina, Javier Milei.

For context, Milei is famous for carrying a chainsaw on the campaign trail to illustrate how he was going to reverse Argentina’s economic disaster by cutting off the unnecessary parts of big government. As our Thomas Gallatin noted recently, “Milei can be credited with turning the nation away from imminent disaster toward an economic recovery and promising future. Before Milei took office, inflation was averaging 25% per month, but it has now decreased to less than 3%.”

This is so epic. The president of Argentina @JMilei presents Elon Musk @elonmusk with a golden chainsaw.A chainsaw to CUT bureaucracy. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 pic.twitter.com/wJCIJfhMjJ— Patriot Lady (@angelwoman501) February 21, 2025

Musk, who is doing something very similar within the executive branch, was thrilled by the gift and raised it in the air, saying, “This is the chainsaw for bureaucracy.”

President Donald Trump also spoke at CPAC. He set the stage in his usual colorful manner, saying: “He was ‘Sleepy Joe,’ but he was crooked as hell. He was a sleepy, crooked guy. He was a terrible, terrible president. He was the worst president in the history of our country — I don’t care, I’ll say it.” He finished up his musing with, “I have to clean up the mess. I’m cleaning up the mess, and it is a mess — on the border, with inflation. Every single thing he touched turned to sh*t — everything.”

That’s when Trump began talking about policies that he and his team are keeping front and center, like the border, the economy, the gender wars, and — most importantly — fighting for the American people on every front.

Overall, it was a great CPAC and an exciting start to President Trump’s second term.

Why the ‘war on inflation’ is over — even though the ‘experts’ don’t get it

The war is over: not the war in Ukraine or Gaza – I mean the war on inflation.
Shoppers, understandably, are still freaking out in the grocery aisles, most recently over egg prices. Meanwhile, economists, politicos and pundits continue to sweat allegedly “sticky” categories for goods and services and rising wages – especially after January’s Consumer Price Index accelerated.
They are all fighting the last war. How about you and your stock portfolio?
Yes, inflation has hammered households since 2021 and it has been horrific. The CPI ended January 23.4% above December 2019 – and that understates many shoppers’ experience – including yours, probably. It’s also true that the end of a military war doesn’t mean the destruction is somehow reversed.

The latter, unfortunately, is also the case with inflation. Prices and inflation are different. Inflation is the speed of rising prices — now 3% versus a year ago based on CPI. Prices overall don’t fall. Select categories may, but broadly falling prices – aka…

Flight horror as pilot bitten by TARANTULA & has allergic reaction mid-air after spider crawled on plane at Casablanca

A PILOT was bitten by a tarantula and suffered an allergic reaction in a horrifying mid-air drama.
The spider crept onto the plane during a stopover in the Moroccan city of Casablanca before the jet carried on to Spain.

The Iberia plane had to be fumigated. Stock picCredit: Getty
The Iberia plane’s onward journey was delayed so it could be fumigated and the pilot treated with anti-inflammatory medicine.
Iberia Airbus A320 flying between Dusseldorf in Germany and Madrid’s Barajas Airport on Friday afternoon when the pilot was attacked by the critter.
It is understood the spider crawled onto the plane earlier in the week in Casablanca.
The plane was fumigated when it reached the Spanish capital, prompting a three-hour delay.
Passengers were forced to wait to board for its onward journey to the Galician city of Vigo being informed about what had happened.
The pilot is said to have been treated with Urbason, the marketing name for a medication called Methylprednisolone.
It is widely used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases and to reduce the inflammation and symptoms associated with severe allergic reactions.
Iberia Airlines has said he is doing fine and has suffered no lasting…

Xi hails Russia’s ‘positive efforts to defuse Ukraine crisis’

Beijing –
Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday hailed Moscow’s “positive efforts to defuse” the Ukraine crisis in a call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, state media said.
Xinhua news agency reported Xi as saying “China is happy to see Russia and relevant parties make positive efforts to defuse” the crisis in Ukraine.
Moscow and Beijing have strengthened military and trade ties since Russia sent troops into Ukraine, though China has sought to depict itself as a neutral party amid the nearly three-year conflict.
Beijing remains a close political and economic partner of Moscow and has never condemned Russia’s actions, leading some NATO members to brand Beijing an “enabler” of the conflict.
Speaking of China’s ties with Russia, Xi said “history and reality” show the two countries “are good neighbors that cannot be moved away, and true friends who share weal and woe, support each other and achieve common development,” Xinhua reported.
The state news agency earlier said Xi held a phone call with the Russian leader “upon invitation.”
Both sides have made much of Xi and Putin’s supposedly…

Social media rollbacks opening ‘floodgates’ of hate: UN chief

Rollbacks on social media fact-checking and moderation safeguards are reopening the floodgates of hate, the UN chief warned Monday, saying the poisonous atmosphere would lead to free speech shrinking.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said people would become increasingly fearful to engage on social media.
“As fast-moving technologies expand into every aspect of our lives, I am deeply concerned about human rights being undermined,” he told the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
Guterres said at best, social media was a meeting ground for people to exchange ideas in respectful debate, but at worst, it could be an arena for combat and “blatant ignorance”.
“A place where the poisons of misinformation, disinformation, racism, misogyny and hate speech are not only tolerated — but often encouraged.”
He said verbal attacks could easily become physical violence.
“Recent rollbacks on social media fact-checking and content moderation are re-opening the floodgates to more hate, more threats, and more violence.
“Make no mistake. These rollbacks will lead to less free speech, not more, as people become increasingly fearful to engage on these…

Afrikaners Stand in Line for Trump’s Refugee Offer

Tens of thousands of white Afrikaners want to move to the United States to escape alleged racial persecution in South Africa.
PRETORIA—The lines creasing Wilhelm Snyman’s sun-scorched face make him look much older than 46.
“It’s also the stress of the past six years that has made me look like an ou toppie [old man],” he said near the United States embassy in Pretoria.
Snyman lost his job in the computer industry in 2019 and said he’s been unable to find permanent work since then.
“So one day the boss called me in and told me he had to retrench me and some other white guys. He had to replace us with black employees because of the government’s affirmative action policies,” he told The Epoch Times. “Fortunately, my wife still has a job—but it’s humiliating as a man to sit at home every day doing nothing, and just keeping busy with an odd job here and there.”
Groups of Afrikaners have been gathering regularly at the embassy since President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Feb. 7.
It cut American aid to South Africa, accusing President Cyril Ramaphosa’s government of “race-based discrimination, including racially discriminatory property…

This is the Left

We know that, in principle, theory, and dogma, the Left, the modern Democratic Party, is a Marxist, anti-traditional American, anti-God, amoral movement.  It’s not just politics; it is an entire worldview.  In this article, I’m not going to explain the philosophic underpinnings of Leftism (I’ve done that in countless articles before); I intend to list some specific and very clear examples of what Leftism has produced—in word and deed.  This is the Left.  This is what they actually do and say.

1.  This is the Left 1—A recent headline:  “Diversity Trumps Skill:  Delta Airlines Under Fire for Championing DEI Amid Spectacular Crash.”  They claimed that soon after Toronto, they didn’t even know who the pilots on the plane were.  Sex over safety.  Delta Airlines is apparently more concerned with gender, who a person goes to bed with, or who their ancestors were than they are about the lives and safety of their passengers.  That’s the Left.
2. This is the Left 2:  Headline:  “House Oversight Committee:  $241 Million Spent on Transgender Surgeries and Treatment on Animals.”  Your taxes and mine are at work on…

Can Greg Gutfeld Save New York City?

Is there anyone out there who doesn’t know who Greg Gutfeld is?
He is the host of the highest rated late night talk show on Fox News at 10:00 p.m.
His format usually includes two guests and two regulars discussing recent current events with humor, very politically incorrect comments, and frequently blipped-out blue language.
He is way funnier than Bill Maher was when his Politically Incorrect show aired from New York but the most important thing about Gutfeld is the size of his audience and who is watching.
According to year-end Nielsen ratings data released by Fox News, the late-night style show hosted by Greg Gutfeld grew its nightly average to 2,500,000 total viewers, a 35% increase over last year. Among viewers aged 25-54, it was a similar story, with a nightly average of 355,000 viewers, up 33% year-over-year.
When Donald Trump appeared on Gutfeld last summer, the show, taped on Wednesday and aired in primetime, drew 4.9 million viewers, including 744,000 viewers among adults ages 25 to 54 years old (A25-54), the key demographic most-attractive to cable news advertisers.
Trump’s interview on Gutfeld! came days after the second attempt on his life in two months….

Lori Chavez-DeRemer, a Nod to Big Labor

This past week, Donald Trump’s pick to head the Department of Labor, former Representative Lori Chavez-DeRemer, faced questioning from the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.

Of all Trump’s cabinet nominees, Chavez-DeRemer may be the most objectionable to conservatives, especially given her selection as labor secretary. While Chavez-DeRemer was a one-term Republican representative from Oregon, her political views and history were troubling, to say the least.

First and foremost is the fact that Chavez-DeRemer cosponsored the terrible Protecting the Right to Organize or PRO Act, legislation that would effectively eliminate right-to-work laws across the entire nation, promote unionization, and drastically curtail the freedom of individuals to self-employ.

The PRO Act is the worst example of legislative overreach since ObamaCare, and Democrats and Big Labor are big proponents of the Liberty-limiting bill. Moreover, she also supported enshrining public union bargaining rights, which would effectively spread the costly blue state government model across the entire country.

As a result, Senator Rand Paul opposes her, and he warned that Chavez-DeRemer could lose the votes of at least 15 other Republican senators. *I’m not going to support her,“ said Paul in a recent interview. “I’m the national spokesman and lead author of the right-to-work bill. Her support for the PRO Act, which would not only oppose national right-to-work but would pre-empt state law on right-to-work — I think it’s not a good thing.”

When Paul questioned Chavez-DeRemer in the committee hearing regarding her past support for the PRO Act, her response was rather tepid. “So you no longer support the aspect of the PRO Act that would’ve overturned state right-to-work laws?” Paul asked. “Yeah,” she quietly answered, to which Paul pressed, “That’s a yes?” She replied, “Yes.”

In her opening remarks, Chavez-DeRemer sought to explain her past support for the PRO Act as motivated by her representing leftist Oregon while acknowledging “that bill wasn’t perfect.” But she added, “If confirmed, my job will be to implement President Trump’s policy division, and my guiding principle will be President Trump’s guiding principle, ensuring a level playing field for businesses, unions and, most importantly, the American worker.”

The trouble is that one of Trump’s most crucial policy agenda items is draining the swamp. He is seeking to reform the federal government away from the self-serving bureaucratic state it has become. Indeed, the Elon Musk-led DOGE is aggressively involved in auditing the executive branch agencies for the express purpose of cutting out the massive problem of government waste.

Chavez-DeRemer comes in touting the exact opposite policy record. She is about as big a government proponent and top-down regulator as it gets. There’s a reason why her fanbase includes individuals like teachers union head Randi Weingarten and Teamsters boss Sean O’Brien.

So, why did Trump choose her? It’s likely that his doing so is a nod to Big Labor, who, while not endorsing him, refrained from endorsing Kamala Harris. O’Brien spoke at the Republican National Convention, and an awful lot of rank-and-file union members supported Trump.

Will Chavez-DeRemer be confirmed? Given the positive yet noncommittal responses from several Democrats, they may be perfectly willing to help advance her out of committee. If that happens, her confirmation is almost guaranteed.
