As Twitchy readers know, Rachel Maddow showed up on Joy Reid’s last show to bid her farewell, and in our opinion, it looked as if Maddow knew it was coming even as she bellyached and said it was a huge loss. Beyond the fact that we know she has been involved with other significant decisions at the outlet (blocking Keith Olbermann, for example), the look in her eyes convinced us.

And then she tried throwing her bosses under the bus during her show by playing … wait for it … the race card.

Federal Judge Denies AP’s Effort to Enter the Oval Office to Cover Events – PJ Media

A federal judge has denied a request by the Associated Press (AP) to force the White House to allow it to cover events in the Oval Office and on Air Force One. The White House banned AP from the premises because the wire service refused to call the “Gulf of Mexico” the “Gulf of America.” U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden refused to lift the ban but also scheduled a hearing on March 20 to hear both sides of the issue. McFadden appeared skeptical of AP’s argument that the wire service would suffer “irreparable harm” if prevented from covering events from the White House. He said the news organization “can get access to the same information” from the pool reports that go out to members of the White House Correspondent’s Association (WHCA). The Trump-appointed judge also pointed out that AP delayed bringing the lawsuit for several days, negating the argument that it was suffering harm as a result of the ban. “It feels a little odd that the White House is bound by certain decisions that this private organization is making,” McFadden said at one point. The bulk of President Donald Trump’s policies receive “strong majority support,” a recent Harvard-Harris survey found. The survey listed several Trump policies and found a solid majority supporting most of them. For example, 81 percent across the board said they support “deporting immigrants who are here illegally and have committed crimes.” Perhaps what is more, there is partisan agreement, as 92 percent of Republicans, 74 percent of independents, and 62 percent of Democrats agree with that policy.
