Republican Senators Just Gifted Mitch McConnell Power To Thwart President Trump’s Agenda in the Senate

Within hours of spearheading the Senate GOP resistance against President Trump’s first choice for Attorney General, leading Matt Gaetz to remove his name from consideration for the top DOJ position, Mitch McConnell has taken further steps to thwart President Trump’s agenda in the Senate.
Although he will be resigning his position as Senate Majority Leader, he has summarily decided to take over two different leadership positions instead, with the apparent blessing of Senate Republicans — including that of the new Senate Majority Leader, John Thune.
In a statement released on the Senate Majority Leader’s official website, McConnell has announced that he will be chairing both the Senate Rules Committee and the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense.

I likely don’t have to remind you of this video of Mitch McConnell completely freezing up during a press conference last year.
The Senate Majority Leader of the United States had to be escorted from the podium while exhibiting less cognition than many dementia patients.

The Left REALLY Doesn’t Get It – PJ Media

This past week has seen certain LGBT issues take center stage again after House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) officially declared that sex-segregated spaces at the Capitol, like bathrooms and locker rooms, “are reserved for individuals of that biological sex.” This commonsense policy that protects women has prompted all sorts of outrage from the radical left. Naturally, the left doesn’t see it this way and is fuming over it.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said the policy is “endangering all women and girls.”
Her response was the epitome of stupid, but she wasn’t the only one distorting the issue.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) offered his office bathroom for Representative-elect [Tim] Sarah McBride to use and declared “There’s no job I’m afraid to lose if it requires me to degrade anyone.”
And then there’s Rep. Becca Balint (D-Vt.), who said, “My GOP colleagues, who privately tell me they don’t hate LGBTQ+ people, should find the courage to reject the dehumanizing rhetoric. Your silence is deafening.”
Her tweet, dripping with the kind of condescension we’ve come to expect from progressive Democrats, misses the mark entirely. This isn’t about hate. The…

Republicans Plan to Undo Some Biden Administration Rules Next Congress

The Congressional Review Act gives a new Congress 60 days to adopt resolutions halting certain regulations adopted by the previous administration.
Among the final bills introduced in the current lame-duck Congress, and the first resolutions to be filed in the new Congress that convenes on Jan. 3, will be resolutions seeking to suspend implementation of the Biden administration’s “midnight regulations.”
Outgoing Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on several occasions this week said the incoming Senate majority is preparing Congressional Review Act (CRA) resolutions to “rein in Washington bureaucrats” while agency rules are reviewed by the new GOP trifecta Congress.
The Biden administration’s regulations for 2024 “alone amount to the second-highest annual total by pages in the Federal Register,” he said in a Nov. 20 statement, noting since assuming office, the administration has “imposed regulatory costs that, by one estimate, surpass $1.8 trillion. That’s trillion with a ‘T.’”
The Congressional Review Act (CRA) allows Congress to suspend, in simple majority resolutions, implementation of any rules and regulations adopted in the last 60…

Russia’s claim of emissions in annexed Ukraine regions draws protests at COP29 By Reuters

By Valerie Volcovici
BAKU, Azerbaijan (Reuters) – Russia has included the territories it occupies in Ukraine in its recent greenhouse gas inventory report to the United Nations, drawing protests from Ukrainian officials and activists at the COP29 climate summit this week.
The move by Moscow comes as Russian President Vladimir Putin eyes potential peace deal negotiations with incoming U.S. President Donald Trump that could decide the fate of vast swathes of territory.
“We see that Russia is using international platforms to legalise their actions, to legalise their occupation of our territory,” Ukraine’s Deputy Environment Minister Olga Yukhymchuk told Reuters.
She said Ukraine is in touch with officials from the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the U.N.’s main climate body, to ask it to resolve the dispute.
Officials representing the Russian foreign ministry and the UNFCCC did not respond to requests for comment sent on Thursday.
At issue is Russia’s National Inventory Report of greenhouse gas emissions for 2022, which Moscow submitted to the UNFCCC on Nov. 8. In the submission, reviewed by Reuters, Russia said it could only provide data for 85…

The potential suitors for Daniel Jones after his Giants release

Here’s a look at potential suitors for Daniel Jones’ next team.
We’re listing them by most compelling scenarios first.
Cowboys
This would be a fascinating, delicious scenario not only because Dallas is a rival of the Giants, but because the two teams play each other on Thanksgiving.
Daniel Jones is now a free agent after his Giants release. Bill Kostroun/New York Post
Dak Prescott is out for the season and Jones would be an upgrade to backup Cooper Rush.

Stephen Jones, the Cowboys’ executive vice president, said on Friday the team isn’t interested in signing Jones, but with the Cowboys you never know.
Jets
Another fascinating possibility.
The Jets are likely done with Aaron Rodgers after this season and will be in need of a “bridge” veteran QB if they draft one in April.
Tyrod Taylor is the Jets’ backup this season. Bill Kostroun/New York Post
The Jets’ current backup is Tyrod Taylor, who backed up Jones with the Giants.
Raiders
Gardner Minshew has not been the answer at starter, throwing just eight touchdowns to nine interceptions. Las Vegas is 2-6 with Minshew at quarterback.
His…

Trump taps Scott Bessent for U.S. Treasury

President-elect Donald Trump on Friday said he will nominate prominent investor Scott Bessent as U.S. Treasury secretary, a key cabinet position with vast influence over economic, regulatory and international affairs.
“I am most pleased to nominate Scott Bessent to serve as the 79th Secretary of the Treasury of the United States,” Trump said in a statement released on Truth Social. “Scott is widely respected as one of the world’s foremost international investors and geopolitical and economic strategists.”
Wall Street has been closely watching who Trump will pick, especially given his plans to remake global trade through tariffs and extend and potentially expand the raft of tax cuts enacted during his first term.

Hungary Vows to Disregard ICC Arrest Warrant for Israel’s Netanyahu

The Israeli prime minister, as well as a leader of terrorist group Hamas, has been charged by the International Criminal Court with war crimes.
Nations around the world reacted to the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for war crimes, but one nation stood out in its reaction.
Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban invited Netanyahu to Hungary on Nov. 22, saying the arrest warrant would “not be observed.”
Orban, in comments on state radio, accused the ICC of “interfering in an ongoing conflict for political purposes.”
The ICC, the world’s top war crimes court based in The Hague, issued the warrant for Netanyahu the previous day, along with one for former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.
One member of terrorist group Hamas, its military chief Mohammed Deif, was also charged.
They are accused of crimes against humanity in the conduct of the 13-month war in Gaza triggered by Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attack, in which 1,200 were killed and more than 250 were kidnapped.

Yes, Trump ‘Plans to Fire the Entire Team’ VERY Soon (Brace for MORE Dem Triggering!) – Twitchy

About a week ago there were reports that DC special counsel Jack Smith was planning to step down before Donald Trump took office:

Special counsel Jack Smith intends to step down before President-elect Donald Trump takes office and is discussing the mechanics of winding down the federal prosecutions against him with Justice Department leadership, a DOJ official familiar with the discussions said.
Trump has threatened to fire Smith, but Smith expects to be gone before Trump takes office.
Trump and his allies have repeatedly threatened to fire and prosecute Smith’s team. In October, the president-elect said he would use presidential powers to end Smith’s probe and promised to fire Smith “within two seconds.”

Fast forward several days, and it looks like Smith and his team might be trying to get out the door before Trump gets in and takes action.
The Washington Post has a report about what Trump has in mind for his first few days in office:

Breaking news: President-elect Donald Trump plans to fire the entire team that worked with special counsel Jack Smith to pursue two federal prosecutions against the former president, according to two…

‘I Want Nothing To Do With This S***’

UFC CEO Dana White said in a new interview that was published this week that he is finished with politics for good after President-elect Donald Trump won re-election this month, saying he wants nothing to do with the political world.
“I’m never f***ing doing this again,” White said. “I want nothing to do with this s***. It’s gross. It’s disgusting. I want nothing to do with politics.”
White made the remarks during an interview with The New Yorker that profiled Trump’s relationship with the UFC and how showing up to fights helped him connect with young male voters — one of the key demographics that propelled him to victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Donald Trump is tougher and more badass than anybody,” White told the interviewer. “You can only pray that you’re a quarter of the man that Donald Trump was when a guy tried to take seven shots at his head with a high powered rifle with a f***ing scope on it.”

White not only provided a platform for Trump at UFC fights, he also made appearances at some of Trump’s most important events, like his rally at Madison Square Garden in New York and the Republican…

Adam Carolla Explains the Problem With Progressives – They Never Stop Pushing and Go Too Far (VIDEO) | The Gateway Pundit

Comedian Adam Carolla recently appeared on the ‘Triggernometry’ podcast and talked about the problem with progressives.
Carolla suggests that the issue is that progressives start with something that seems reasonable to most people, but then keep pushing until they arrive at a place so extreme that people start to question things. Then progressives react by insulting anyone who disagrees.
He offers the example of how the left went from marriage equality for gay people to gender surgeries for minors in a matter of just a few years.
Partial transcript via Eric Abbenante on Twitter/X:

Adam Carolla illustrates the slippery slope of the ‘progressive’ movement:
Adam Carolla: “It’s called a progressive movement. And if you take progressive and movement, it means it just keeps going. They never pump the brakes
It always starts with something reasonable. You go, Why shouldn’t a gay couple be allowed to marry so they could have the same rights and privileges, you know, insurance and stuff, you know, whatever.
Give it to them and then we can move forward and we won’t have to argue about this thing.
And then they go, Well, what’s wrong with a little trans story…

Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and an expert in the fields of technology and space exploration, is seemingly considering purchasing the left-wing MSNBC network, which is owned by Comcast.

MSNBC’s ratings have continued to fall since the 2024 election, and the network’s parent firm is now reportedly attempting to sell it along with its other media holdings, such as CNBC.
Meanwhile, the son of the 47th president-elect, Donald Trump Jr., publicly reached out to Musk on X, telling him to buy the “failing” network, which sparked a flurry of back-and-forth conversations about Musk’s possible offer for MSNBC.

“Hey [Elon Musk] I have the funniest idea ever!!!” Trump jr. posted on Friday.

“How much does it cost?” Musk responded.

Tokyo police care for lost umbrellas, keys and flying squirrels

Lost your umbrella, keys, or perhaps a flying squirrel? In Tokyo, the police are almost certainly taking meticulous care of it.
In Japan, lost items are rarely disconnected from their owners for long, even in a mega city like Tokyo — population 14 million.
“Foreign visitors are often surprised to get their things back,” said Hiroshi Fujii, a 67-year-old tour guide at Tokyo’s vast police lost-and-found center.
