All in Washington are acting like their hair is on fire in response to the Department of Government Efficiency requirement that federal employees list what they accomplished last week. Many are acting like they can’t think of anything, like they may need to “phone a friend” to get an answer. But the deeper problem with the federal workforce is that there is almost zero diversity of opinion. We know that more than nine of every 10 Washington, D.C., residents voted for Kamala Harris. We know that the overwhelming number of federal employees are Democrats. That’s not a crime. But what is, is that far fewer than one in five federal employees were working full time in the office. What were they doing? Playing pickleball? We know from Bureau of Labor Statistics data that the quit rate in the federal government is only one-third as high as the quit rate for those who work in the private sector. US Lawmakers Express Concern About China’s ‘Super-Embassy’ In London

Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.), a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and Rep. John Moolenaar (R-Mich.), chair of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), said that allowing China to build what they called a “super-embassy” on the site of the Royal Mint Court in London would be a “counterproductive and unearned reward.” The two lawmakers wanted Mandelson to convey their concerns to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who met with President Donald Trump in Washington on Feb. 27. The Chinese regime first announced plans for a nearly 700,000-square-foot embassy at the Royal Mint Court, a historic site near the Tower of London, in 2018. The plans received a boost in January after the British foreign and interior ministers indicated they would support the construction proposal. Rubio said he believes that the relationship between Trump and Zelenskyy can be repaired, if Ukraine wants to achieve an enduring and lasting peace. “I think he should apologize for wasting our time for a meeting that was going to end the way it did,” Rubio told CNN on Friday night. Japan battles biggest wildfire in decades

Japan was battling its largest wildfire in more than three decades on Saturday, one of several blazes that have killed one person and forced the evacuation of more than a thousand. Flames are estimated to have spread over about 1,200 hectares in the forest of Ofunato in the northern region of Iwate since fire broke out on Wednesday, according to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency. “We’re still examining the size of the affected area, but it is the biggest since the 1992 wildfire” in Kushiro, Hokkaido, an agency spokesman said. That fire burned 1,030 hectares, the previous record. Around 1,700 firefighters were being mobilized from across the country, the agency said.
