US opposes Ukraine territorial integrity in UN vote

UN members backed a resolution supporting Ukraine’s territorial integrity Monday in the face of staunch opposition from Washington which pushed its own language that declined to blame Russia for the war or mention Kyiv’s borders. As US President Donald Trump stakes out a new position on the Ukraine war, a European-backed text marking the conflict’s third anniversary won 93 votes for and 18 votes against, with 65 abstentions. Washington sided with Moscow, as well as Russian allies Belarus, North Korea and Sudan, to vote against. The text — which won far less support compared to previous resolution on the war — strongly criticizes Russia, and emphasizes Ukraine’s territorial integrity and inviolability of its borders. Washington drafted a rival resolution amid an intensifying feud between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Russian ambassador to the UN Vassily Nebenzia had called the U.S. text “a step in the right direction” amid a sudden thaw between Russia and the U.S. under Trump. Trump Says US ‘on Time With the Tariffs’ When Asked Whether Canada, Mexico Spared Paused Border Tariffs

Trump had agreed to pause the tariffs for 30 days to allow the two countries take additional border security measures. U.S. President Donald Trump said Feb. 24 that his country is “on time with the tariffs” when asked about the pause on tariffs planned for Canada and Mexico focused on border security. Talking about broader relations including trade with the two countries, which he said have been to the disadvantage of the United States, he added, “the tariffs are going forward, on time, on schedule.” Trump made the comments during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House. Trump had previously signed an executive order to impose 25 percent tariffs on all Canadian imports and 10 percent on energy imports, which were set to take effect on Feb. 4. However, following last-minute phone calls with the leaders of Canada and Mexico, he agreed to pause the tariffs for 30 days to allow the two countries take additional border security measures. Oh, they are such petty little ingrates, aren’t they? Clearly, Stein doesn’t remember all the soft ball questions Biden received and how the Press barely mentioned his grandchild he never met. Heaven forbid the public expects Stein to report the news correctly, at the very least. Per usual, the public has to correct the corporate media and do all their research. How many times did they ask Biden that dumb question? The answer is MANY! Stein did not have any complaints about that, though. That’s why they are all so mad right now.
