Giannis Antetokounmpo stars as Bucks beat Thunder to win NBA Cup

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks silenced the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second half to win the second edition of the NBA Cup with a 97-81 victory in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

Antetokounmpo, a two-time NBA MVP, delivered a triple-double of 26 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists along with two steals and three blocked shots for the Bucks, who drilled 17 shots from beyond the arc to complete an unbeaten run and follow in the footsteps of the Los Angeles Lakers as in-season tournament champions.

Damian Lillard scored 23 points for the Bucks, who held the potentially explosive Thunder offense to 31 points in the second half.

LONDON/DUBAI – Iran’s Revolutionary Guards have tightened their grip on the country’s oil industry and control up to half the exports that generate most of Tehran’s revenue and fund its proxies across the Middle East, according to Western officials, security sources and Iranian insiders. All aspects of the oil business have come under the growing influence of the Guards, from the shadow fleet of tankers that secretively ship sanctioned crude, to logistics and the front companies selling the oil, mostly to China, according to more than a dozen people interviewed. Qantas to Pay $120 Million in Compensation for COVID-19 Layoffs

1,820 ground crew members will receive a share of the compensation following court rulings. Qantas will pay $120 million (US$76 million) to 1,820 workers who were illegally outsourced at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. The airline has reached an agreement with the Transport Workers Union (TWU) on the total compensation amount, to be paid from early 2025. This settlement follows a High Court judgement that upheld the outsourcing of baggage handlers, cabin cleaners, and ground support staff as unlawful. In October 2024, Federal court Justice Michael Lee then ordered the airline to pay $100,000, $40,000, and $30,000 in three test cases related to the employment terminations. At the time of the outsourcing, Qantas was dealing with financial impacts of the COVID-19 travel bans and lockdowns, which grounded the majority of its flights and cut revenue at the airline. As The Gateway Pundit reported, The tragic event unfolded on Monday, shortly before 11 a.m. at the school in Madison, Wisconsin. The shooter entered a classroom during study hall and opened fire using a 9mm handgun.
