On November 14, John Frankman first announced his interest in Florida’s congressional seat vacated by ex-Rep. Matt Gaetz. Almost two weeks later, on November 26, the former Special Forces Green Beret expressed his gratitude to those who supported his campaign, while also regretfully disclosing that he has bowed out of the race.

A large part of Frankman’s decision rested in the fact that President-elect Donald Trump endorsed Jimmy Patronis, The Sunshine State’s chief financial officer.

“I tried to run for Congress because I wanted to do God’s will and use the gifts he gave me for that,” Frankman shared. “With Trump’s endorsement of Patronis, I wanted to support Trump’s agenda and did not want to run against a Trump endorsed candidate.”

For him, “It all boils down to supporting Trump and backing his agenda in whatever capacity possible, even if that meant not opposing the candidate he endorsed.”

While Frankman admitted that this was “a painful decision,” he also pointed out that he would gladly welcome any other opportunities to work for the new administration. He remains a principled conservative, still believing the American people deserve a secure southern border, lower taxes, smaller government, and much more.

As his future in government remains uncertain, there’s one thing still driving him that he hopes will garner the attention of the new administration. “It’s the accountability piece that has to happen, and I hope [President-elect] follows through with this,” he shared.

“We need to take a really hard look at what happened with COVID and ensure that this kind of weaponization of government can never happen again.”

In addition, he said, the new administration must “equally apply pressure” against the infiltration of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) ideology into American society.

“These are the things I will continue to advocate for,” Frankman disclosed. “I am grateful for God and hope my voice continues to grow because these are the kinds of things Trump and his transition team cannot tackle alone. We the People must stand with him.”
