A judge has granted a request by Special Counsel Jack Smith to dismiss President-elect Donald Trump’s election interference case.

On Monday, Judge Tanya Chutkan wrote the dismissal of the case in a one-page order.

Judge Tanya Chutkan was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia in June 2014.

“For the reasons set forth in the accompanying Opinion, ECF No. 282, the Government’s Motion to Dismiss, ECF No. 281, is hereby GRANTED, and the Superseding Indictment, ECF No. 226, is hereby DISMISSED without prejudice,” Chutkan wrote.

Earlier on Monday, Smith officially announced that he would be dropping his election interference case against Trump. Smith filed a six-page motion that states he had asked Chutkan to throw out the case ahead of Trump’s impending inauguration.

A second federal judge has ruled against a federal rule, put forward by President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s Department of Labor, that gives collective bargaining rights to foreign farm workers while American farm workers are excluded. In September 2023, the Labor Department announced a federal rule that would dramatically change the H-2A visa program, which allows United States farms to import foreign workers to take American agricultural jobs. As part of the rule, finalized in April 2024, foreign H-2A visa workers would get collective bargaining rights not afforded to American farm workers. Certain car brands are making their political leanings known. Jaguar, for example, recently released an ad in which the brand proved that it’s more committed to DEI and LGBTQ+ causes than it is to selling its own products. Pat Gray plays the commercial, which features a group of diverse individuals clad in neon, avant-guard clothing doing … well, nothing — at least nothing related to automobiles. The phrases “create exuberant,” “live vivid,” “delete ordinary,” “break moulds,” and “copy nothing” are overlaid footage of the strange, almost alien-like actors doing non-car-related activities, such as spinning in a circle while holding a paintbrush, or wielding a sledgehammer. Perhaps strangest of all is the fact that not a single car or automobile-related item is present in the commercial, making it clear what the company is selling: woke ideology, not cars.
