Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg just wrapped up a news conference Tuesday afternoon, and he announced that his office will be charging alleged CEO killer Luigi Mangione with one count of first-degree murder in furtherance of terrorism.

His office released a statement:

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr., and New York City Police Department Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch today announced the indictment of LUIGI MANGIONE, 26, for the murder of 50-year-old United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson outside of the Hilton Hotel in Midtown on December 4, 2024. MANGIONE is charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with one count of Murder in the First Degree, in furtherance of terrorism; two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, one of which is charged as killing as an act of terrorism; two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree; four counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree; one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree; and one count of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree.

Man convicted of quadruple homicide is put to death in Indiana’s 1st execution in 15 years

An Indiana man convicted of killing four people including his brother and his sister’s fiancé decades ago was put to death Wednesday, marking the state’s first execution in 15 years. Joseph Corcoran, 49, was pronounced dead at 12:44 a.m. CST at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, Indiana, the Indiana Department of Correction said in a statement.
