Several years ago, in an effort to cheer me up after a particularly rough year, friends came from out-of-town to visit me. We had a blast, and one of the things we enjoyed was watching ‘Tiger King’ together. All of my friends had already seen it, so their entertainment was watching me watching it for the first time.
And in that documentary, just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse, they did, and I was basically agape the entire time we watched it.
I feel the same way about the ongoing LA wildfires: just when I think the story can’t get any worse, it does. Earlier, I told you how firefighters are using handbags (some say cloth water buckets) to put out the flames. Thousands of homes and businesses are burned to nothing, about 100,000 people have been ordered to evacuate, and at least five are dead.
Gavin Newsom gave an interview to CNN and played the victim card. He’s not, and yesterday I argued this should end his political career.
And in the name of DEI and gender inclusivity, I also say this disaster should end the political career of LA Mayor Karen Bass.
