WASHINGTON — Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Breitbart News exclusively that it is not a “serious offer” for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to ask for nuclear weapons for Ukraine in lieu of NATO membership as part of peace talks with Russia.
“Well, I don’t think anyone would think that’s a serious offer on their part, nor do I think equipping them with nuclear weapons is a solution to the problem,” Rubio told Breitbart News when asked about Zelensky’s comments recently that he wants nukes if Ukraine will not be joining NATO.
Rubio had sat down Monday evening with Breitbart News at the State Department headquarters in Washington, DC, for a long-form, on-camera interview.
