Re: Joe Biden’s Disgraceful Departure
“I think Alexander is correct in that Trump’s primary motive was to clear the remaining J6 prosecutions off the Democrats’ political agenda so they could not spend the next four years hanging that disgraceful riot around his neck. However, I believe, as his AG nominee Pam Bondi suggested, that the violent offender cases he pardoned should have been more closely considered on a case-by-case basis.” —New York
“Joe Biden’s final days in office revealed a far more morally corrupt man than even some of his most ardent detractors imagined. He has used his official position to protect his crime family from prosecution — and, by extension, he has protected himself. Turns out Biden was just a thug.” —North Carolina
“I did not think that the violent J6 protestors were going to get a pardon. Trump’s motives notwithstanding, that does not excuse their violence.” —California
“ALL of those prosecuted in the J6 affair share in the presumption of innocence because the prosecutors deliberately withheld exculpatory evidence in violation of their right to a fair trial. Those convicted of violence cannot be assumed to have committed the crimes for which they were convicted.” —Illinois
“This was a well-outlined summary of Biden’s final days. And, as Alexander concluded, ‘Thankfully, America has been “unburdened from what has been!”’“ —Massachusetts
“As a former Navy Aviator, I have a very strong objection to Biden’s naming a new carrier after Clinton. I encourage all veterans and families of those KIA to protest this disgraceful action.” —Massachusetts
“What an insult to the men and women who have shouldered the responsibility of defending our great nation. Serving on a vessel named after Bill Clinton would be the antithesis of pride.” —Georgia
“I’m not sure the USS William Clinton could survive White Water. It will be colloquially known as the ‘Slick Willie.’” —Louisiana
“When I read this, I could not believe it. I am a Marine veteran and served on two ships with HMM-263: the USS Guadalcanal LPH-7 and the USS Inchon LPH-12. Hopefully Trump will overturn this stupid decision!” —Indiana
“As SecDef nominee Pete Hegseth is about to abolish the DOD’s DEI nonsense, who will volunteer to captain the USS Clinton? We may anticipate that assignments to the USS Clinton will be viewed similar to orders to Siberia.” —Washington
“Alexander notes, ‘Honorable military service or distinguished service as CINC certainly should be a prerequisite for the naming of any major military platform, system, or facility.’ Indeed. Perhaps President Trump and his new SecDef can get their heads together and rename this carrier before it is christened.” —Florida
Re: From Drilling the Economy to Drilling for Oil
“It’s impossible to see what Biden was aiming at with his horrid presidency. Was he trying to accomplish anything positive that would actually help anyone? Or was he just doing stuff to wreck America? He did nothing of consequence other than cripple those who actually were doing productive things. It’s like his presidency was built on sabotaging things that would help America. He did nothing to make life better for anyone. Period. Biden’s legacy will put him at the lowest rung on the ladder of presidents. His lifelong ambition ended up being a total failure, doing no one any good other than our enemies. This guy was the poster boy for the term ‘empty shell.’” —New York
Re: Prosecute Michael Byrd for Killing Ashli Babbitt
“Where on the scale is the use of deadly force called for in this case? Babbitt’s killer must have missed that class.” —Georgia
Re: Hegseth and the Senate Minefield
“False accusations are the last effort of a failed policy. Easy to say, difficult to prove, and it serves the purpose of confusion. It’s also a primary demonstration of lack of character. When things are not going their way, you can count on the long-lost offended women coming in to disrupt the day. It’s all about timing, as they must be there long enough to stall an unwanted procedure.” —Washington
“The ‘lame duck’ period between election and inauguration should be extremely shortened. With today’s technology, so much time is not necessary. It also is very dangerous because, just as we are seeing now, an angry, spiteful, outgoing president can utilize that time to undermine and sabotage the plans of the incoming president. The law should be that the outgoing president cannot make any new laws or directives during the lame-duck period.” —Pennsylvania
“President Biden’s ‘Farewell Address’ embodied his self-delusion regarding the abysmal ineptitude of his administration’s four years. His Day One flippant cancellation of the Keystone Pipeline curtailed U.S. energy independence, leading to economic inflationary pressures, while his open southern border policy and his ill-considered, catastrophic abandonment of Afghanistan and strategic Bagram Air Base and BILLIONS of military equipment and weapons have gravely imperiled our national security. The ‘very strong hand’ he says he is leaving for Trump is anything but. In reality, Joe Biden should have offered apologies for his administration’s many failures that were detrimental to our nation — and the daunting tasks left for those who must overcome them.” —Florida
Re: The Hope of Inauguration Day
“If The Donald can manage even HALF of what he outlined, the country will indeed be much better off. As for making the U.S. a manufacturing country again (which would, in fact, be excellent), this is not going to be an overnight process. Too many of our supply lines have moved overseas, and moving those back here will be a difficult and time-consuming process. It will also certainly cause a rise in price of many commodities. Let’s face it — we don’t have people here willing to work for $3.00 a day. Or even $30.00 a day. It will be interesting to see how this works out. Hopefully the stock markets and the economy won’t react in a negative way.” —Florida
“Hopefully this is a dark day for the deep state. We all know they vowed to FIGHT. It will be extremely hard for these self-serving servants to actually work for the people who elected them. My gut feeling is that resistance will be the ‘peaceful’ transfer of power. And because of pardons, the crooks get off scot-free. And Biden was the one wiping (pardoning) their behinds!” —Illinois
Re: Leaders Lead: DeSantis on Deportation
“Love this guy, and I definitely would have voted for him if this hadn’t been Trump’s election to win. I hope to see Trump fulfill all his promises as he did during his first term, and then I hope to see either DeSantis or Vance win two terms to get this country back on track. DeSantis is smart, patriotic, and — best of all — believes in the Rule of Law, not ruling by feelings or the latest poll results. He’s good for Florida and I think he’d be great for America.” —Pennsylvania
Re: Trump Vows to Rescue TikTok
“I’m not sure what benefit is derived from less than majority U.S. ownership of TikTok. In any case, if the platform is to continue operating in the U.S., its coding must be thoroughly sanitized of connections to Chinese servers, proxy servers, VPN tunnels, or other backdoors for foreign data collection or content. Provision must also be made to prevent replacement or patching of the U.S. version through foreign servers. Operationally, TikTok USA must be completely separated from ByteDance.” —Minnesota
Re: Profiles of Valor: GEN Richard E. Cavazos
“Cavazos was an extraordinarily heroic soldier and due respect in every sense. However, the renaming of military installations is an insult to generations of warriors who have served on these bases. Fort Hood is FORT HOOD, now and forever, regardless of what the DEI crowd wants to call it. And the same is true for Fort Benning, Fort Bragg, etc.” —Texas
