It’s very obvious to those of us with common sense that the transgenderism ideology is extremely unpopular with the American people. And yet, particularly where gender-confused men are concerned, this “progressive” push to shove aside women is continuing even in leftist enclaves.
Currently, there are two pertinent examples in the culture.
First, every year in Washington, DC, the pro-abortion crowd gathers to march for “women’s rights.” Historically, it has been called the “Women’s March,” and as vile and vulgar as the activism within is, the confab at least unified the feminist movement. For example, in 2017, when President Donald Trump was sworn in for the first time, the number of marchers swelled to upwards of 500,000.
This year was a far cry from that number, as many decided to stay home. In fact, I was hard-pressed to find any specific estimates beyond the vague “thousands.” Part of that is due to the fact the Democrats have lost much of their fight following Trump’s Electoral College and the popular vote wins. The other culprit, which hasn’t really been talked about, relates to the movement’s most extreme radicals, who have taken over the Women’s March and made it about issues other than abortion — namely, transgenderism, pro-Hamas ideology, and open borders. They even rebranded the gathering the “People’s March” because “Women’s March” was too exclusive.
This year’s march lacked focus and didn’t have even a semblance of support for women. (Though, suffice it to say, it was never about supporting women.) The event featured a transgender-identifying male wearing a crop top that read, “I will aid and abet abortion,” and on his exposed stomach were the words “not yet a human.” This mentally ill individual cannot bear children; he is a man. The assertion that he can is ridiculous, ludicrous, and evil. However, the feminists have left themselves open to this sort of invasion because they decided to give in to the notion that men and women are exactly the same — i.e., interchangeable. That’s why this year’s march was turned into an anti-women tripe. A classic example of the Left eating its own.
The second example concerns Hollywood. Our glitterati are in the midst of awards season, and in this farce, award members vote on films they deem worthy of critical acclaim. In recent years, the bigger award ceremonies, such as the Golden Globes, Grammies, and Oscars/Academy Awards, have been an exercise in how these members can virtue signal their wokeness.
This year, award members kicked it up a notch. For the Golden Globes, an extremely bad film directed by a Frenchman won many unwarranted laurels. The film is called “Emilia Pérez,” and the premise is that a Mexican cartel leader fakes his own death so that he can transition to a woman, abandoning his wife and children in the process. Its utterly unmemorable and boring music was deemed more impressive to the voters than “Wicked,” which is utterly preposterous. In fact, it beat out “Wicked” for Best Musical at the Golden Globes. Only a deaf cat or a brainwashed person would choose “Emilia Pérez” over “Wicked,” yet here we are.
The Oscars are coming up in March, and “Emilia Pérez” has been nominated for 13 Academy Awards, including Best Actress for its gender-confused male lead, Karla Sofía Gascón. As political pundit Ben Shapiro points out, the members should just do away with the “actress” category altogether. Shapiro says this not out of a spirit of antagonism toward women but rather as a statement of where Hollywood is — which is promoting bad movies and pushing out good actresses from awards to make average gender-confused males feel good about themselves.
When even transgender-identifying critics are calling this movie bad, you know the only reason it’s being pushed is to make the woke lefties feel good about themselves.
While the rest of the country is moving away from leftism in favor of sanity, the reality of women being pushed out of their own spheres, even on the Left, is quite a thing to behold. They are welcome to it. As for the rest of us, we’d like sanity and female-only spaces, sports, and protections. Please and thank you.
