Engineers refurbishing a historic lighthouse in Scotland were blown away after discovering a 132-year-old message in a bottle — and it had a surprising connection to their project. “The note was just sensational, I was just in utter amazement,” engineer Ross Russell, 36, told the BBC of the illuminating find. Russell and his team had been renovating the Corsewall Lighthouse in Kirkcolm when they uncovered the bottle in a wall cavity in the lighthouse, which was built back in 1817. The building technicians showed the letter to lighthouse keeper Barry Miller, who subsequently read it aloud to the team assembled for the renovation project. THIS is the moment one of the capsized Egyptian yacht survivors is rescued from an air pocket after the tourist boat sank in the Red Sea. The grateful man simply said “it’s nice to be back” after his ordeal of 36 hours when the Sea Story diving boat capsized on Monday. 6 6 6 He was one of the five survivors found by the rescue teams while seven people – including two Brits- remain missing. Eddie Jones has urged Japan to keep faith in him despite lackluster results that have included several heavy defeats since he returned as head coach almost a year ago. Japan has won four games and lost seven since the Australian took over in January, and the squad was beaten by 40 points or more against New Zealand, France and England in recent matches. The eldest son of Norway’s crown princess, suspected of two rapes, was released from custody on Wednesday, police said, adding however that he was now suspected of another sex crime. Police did not provide details of the new allegation against 27-year-old Marius Borg Hoiby, who was born of a relationship before Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s marriage to Crown Prince Haakon. He was arrested on November 18 on suspicion of rape, and two days later a judge ordered him held in custody for a week after a second rape suspicion emerged. Police said the alleged rapes both involved a “sexual act without intercourse” where the victims were in a condition that made them “unable to resist”. Police said Wednesday they were not requesting an extension of his custody and he was therefore released. “As of now, we can no longer see that there is a risk of evidence tampering,” police said in a statement. More than two million people are estimated to have experienced domestic abuse in the last year. Domestic abuse protection notices and orders (DAPNs and DAPOs), which are being introduced on Wednesday, will be trialled in parts of England and Wales before a nationwide rollout. This includes stopping a perpetrator from coming within a specified distance of a victim’s home. Another measure is electronic “tagging,” including the use of GPS tags to track offenders and ensure compliance. Police officers issue a DAPN when there are reasonable grounds to believe that a person has been abusive towards another person who is aged 16 or over. If the police issue a DAPN, they will then also apply for a DAPO, which will usually be reviewed by the magistrates’ court within 48 hours. The sticking points include the handling of illegal immigration, abortion, energy policies, and climate change. New York is presently the most vocal about considering seceding and becoming a province of Canada, according to WND. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker are democrats who have formed a new alliance in which they intend to resist Trump policies with which they are in disagreement, according to Reuters. The name of the alliance is Governors Safeguarding Democracy. A few other democrats who are supportive of the alliance include Washington State’s Attorney General Bob Ferguson, California Governor Gavin Newsom, New York Governor Kathy Hochul, and Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell.
