This is how it’s done:
A great meeting today at Harmony Tree. In keeping with Mary Beth’s suggestion about writing.Letters, I would like to report that today I mailed a letter to Senator Todd Young about his video ad regarding border security in which he indicated he was going to fight illegals crossing the SouthernBorder. His ad was supposedly filmed someplace near the border wall. I enclosed an article.
From Judicial Watch — noting assaults against US border patrol agents are up 30% over last year. I suggested (in keeping with his promise to do something about illegals) that he use his vacation time and serve with the Border patrol. I have e-mailed him at least 3 times asking him about his video promise to do something about the border and have never received an acknowledgement. I also invited him to speak to our group.
I also mailed a letter to Senator Braun asking him to speak to the group.
May 31, Paul Hager, candidate for Sec of State, spoke to the Brown Paper group (those of us who want hand counted paper ballots). He is the only SOS candidate that wants to change the voting system to paper ballots. He made valid points and cited his experience while working at Crane regarding the vulnerability of thumb drives.
During the last week in May I emailed members of the Nashville town council voicing my opinion, asking me to make sure I was looking at the revised version of the proposal. I was… and I still noted my opposition to the proposal.
I contacted Jane Ellis of the CVB who stated they had received a couple of complaints, they do not document the complaints and she is against the proposal.
Nancy Crocker needs to give us the name of the DTI member she says voiced support for the human rights proposal and you know she cannot because none of us did that.
Dan suggested we get together the first of next week and write letters in opposition to the proposal and that is good but if the meeting does take place on Thursday, the 16th, and the proposal is on the agenda, we cannot get the letters published before that date. I believe noon Friday is the deadline for publication in the next week’s Democrat. It is not a given that our letters will be published.
Perhaps we all could write letters and present them at the town council meeting. I have not found the agenda and if anyone has, please let me know. It should be in next weeks paper.
I suggest we communicate the first of next week and come up with a strategy to fight the human rights proposal.
Mary
