Over a dozen staffers for the Department of government Efficiency tendered their resignations, saying they would not be part of the effort to dismantle critical public services or something. The Associated Press, who’s waging a legal war against the Trump White House over issues of access, wrote about this, though they buried the most relevant paragraph which explains this mass resignation. It’s not shocking in the least (via AP) [emphasis mine]:

More than 20 civil service employees resigned Tuesday from billionaire Trump adviser Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, saying they were refusing to use their technical expertise to “dismantle critical public services.”

“We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” the 21 staffers wrote in a joint resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

Top career civil service managers will no longer be judged within rules that allow almost everybody to rate highest. WASHINGTON—Trump administration officials at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) are set to introduce a comprehensive set of reforms to how the performance of top echelon of career executives is appraised. Monica Lewinsky believes former President Bill Clinton should’ve resigned from the Oval Office as Congress voted to impeach him for lying about his affair with the then-22-year-old. “I think that the right way to handle a situation like that would’ve been to probably say it was nobody’s business and to resign,” Lewinsky told host “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper in the episode released Tuesday night. Railway companies to tighten restrictions on hazardous materials

Railway operators in Japan will restrict certain hazardous materials from being carried on board as part of a move to bolster security ahead of the 2025 Osaka Expo. The Japan Private Railway Association, a group of 73 operators, and six JR companies plan to expand the list of restricted items to include materials such as flammable liquids, high-pressure gases, explosives, poisons and pesticides, the transport ministry said Tuesday. The ministry ordered all railway companies to revise their anti-terrorism guidelines and ban hazardous chemicals that are currently allowed to be brought on board under certain conditions. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has pressed the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for not answering “basic questions” about the timeline of a live fire drill staged in the Tasman Sea by a flotilla of Chinese warships. As first reported in The Epoch Times on Feb. 24, Airservices Australia only found out about the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) warships intentions at 9.58 a.m. on Feb. 21 after a notification from a Virgin Australia commercial pilot. The pilot overheard a warning from the Chinese ships on a radio (guard band) frequency monitored by pilots but not by air traffic control. All pilots in the area, and those scheduled to fly later that day, were warned two minutes later as a result. Later, an Emirates flight spoke to the Chinese ships and was told the exercise had begun at 9.30 a.m.—meaning there was 30 minute gap between when the apparent exercise began and when Australia’s official flight traffic controller knew it was happening.
